What did Krakow look like 100 years ago? Photo exhibition at the ICE Congress Centre

04 of September '20

If you have not yet been to the ICE Krakow Congress Center, now is a good opportunity to do so. Its multifunctional space has been used to present an exhibition of old photographs of Krakow from private collections and public archives. See what the city looked like in the 1920s.

According to the organizers, the exhibition entitled. "Krakow Nostalgia - Frames of the Past," in the form of photographic memories, recalls the sights of 20th century Krakow, while showing that what is new can harmoniously harmonize with its heritage and history. The foyer space of the modern ICE Krakow building designed by Arata Isozaki & Associates and Ingarden & Ewý Architekci studios creates a backdrop for the frames from long ago and allows us to see the changes in urban space that we often witness, participate in and sometimes initiate.

In the words of city mayor Jacek Majchrowski:

Capturing past moments through art, such as photography, allows us to move for a moment to the places and times in which the people of Krakow once lived. So it is worth returning to our city from years ago to see how it has changed. It's also a sign of respect for the achievements of the Cracovians who, like us today, once created the Cracovians of today.
